Nepal Tour Packages – 10 Days Itinerary & Cost

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Meet at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Welcome dinner in the evening with a cultural show.

Day 2: Kathmandu Heritage Tour

UNESCO site visits: Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Drive/Fly to Pokhara (820m).

Take a scenic 6-7 hour drive or a 25-minute flight to Pokhara. Stroll around Lakeside, and boating on Phewa Lake.

Day 4: Pokhara Sightseeing

Early-morning visit to the World Peace Pagoda or optional Sarangkot sunrise. Visit Davis Falls, Gupteshwor Cave, International Mountain Museum, and Lakeside market.

Day 5: Pokhara – Bandipur – Chitwan (415m)

Drive to the traditional hill town of Bandipur for a short stop, then continue to Chitwan National Park. Evening Tharu cultural show.

Day 6: Chitwan Jungle Activities

Full day of wildlife activities: jungle walk, canoe ride, birdwatching, jeep safari to spot one-horned rhinos, deer, and possibly Bengal tigers. Overnight at a jungle resort.

Day 7: Chitwan to Lumbini (Birthplace of Buddha)

Drive for 4-5 hours to reach Lumbini. Visit Maya Devi Temple and the sacred garden. Overnight in Lumbini.

Day 8: Lumbini Commemorative Monasteries Tour + Return to Kathmandu

Visit international monasteries built by different Buddhist nations and later in the afternoon fly or drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 9: Bhaktapur & Nagarkot Sunset Tour

Drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square for a cultural walking tour and then continue driving to Nagarkot (2,175m) for Himalayan sunset views. Later, drive back to Kathmandu for your final night.

Day 10: Departure

Airport transfer and departure according to your flight schedule.

The Constituent Assembly has finally been dissolved after four years in existence and a date has been set for the election of a new one. There is great public disappointment that the political process that started with the coming together of the Maoist party and non-Maoist parties in 2005 in New Delhi failed to deliver on its mandate. There are a number of areas that will require attention. First, the failure has made it clear that leaders across party lines lack the ability to work together and reach compromise, even though they have been working together for over five years. They continued to hurl acrimonious statements and maintained hard-line positions to the very end and failed to prevent a major crisis. There is a danger here that Nepalis will harbour resentment towards fellow Nepalis with opposing political views and blame one another for blocking the constitution.
