A Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour in Nepal combines spirituality, history, meditation, and cultural exploration. The following 7-day itinerary offers a well-paced journey through Nepal’s most sacred Buddhist landmarks.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

On arrival at Kathmandu Airport, you will be received by our tour representative and transferred to your hotel. Later, you may use your free time to take a leisurely walk around Thamel or attend a briefing about the Buddhist sites you are going to visit. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Kathmandu Buddhist Heritage Tour

Spend the day visiting some of the most significant Buddhist monuments in the Kathmandu Valley.

• Swayambhunath Stupa: It is one of the oldest stupas of Nepal and reflects the creation of the valley.

• Boudhanath Stupa: A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest stupas in Asia

• Kopan Monastery: Famous for courses of meditation with serene surroundings.

• Optional: Evening kora, ritual circumambulation, around Boudhanath.

Overnight in Kathmandu.

 

Day 3: Patan & Pharping Monastery Tour

Visit the most important centers of Newari Buddhism, Hiranya Varna Mahavihar and Ashoka Stupas in Patan. Then, proceed to Pharping, a site believed to be where Guru Padmasambhava meditated. Key sites include:

 Return to Kathmandu for overnight stay.

 Day 4: Drive or fly to Lumbin

Day 5: Full Day Lumbini Sacred Garden Tour Explore the spiritual heart of Buddhism

• Maya Devi Temple – exact birthplace of Buddha

 Day 6: Kapilvastu & Tilaurakot Tour

 Drive to Tilaurakot, which is believed to be the ancient palace where Prince Siddhartha spent his early years before renunciation. Visit the archaeological remains, the museum, and the nearby stupas at Niglihawa and Gotihawa. Return to Lumbini for an overnight stay.

 Day 7: Return to Kathmandu & Departure

Fly or drive back to Kathmandu. Do last-minute shopping according to your flight schedule and then depart from Nepal with a heart full of spiritual memories.

There is great public disappointment that the political process that started with the coming together of the Maoist party and non-Maoist parties in 2005 in New Delhi failed to deliver on its mandate. There are a number of areas that will require attention. First, the failure has made it clear that leaders across party lines lack the ability to work together and reach compromise, even though they have been working together for over five years. They continued to hurl acrimonious statements and maintained hard-line positions to the very end and failed to prevent a major crisis.
