Chola pass trek | Gokyo Lake Cho La Pass EBC : Himalayan Smile Treks
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350 m)
Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to your hotel, and explore
Thamel. You'll also meet your trekking guide for a briefing and prepare
permits. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Fly to Lukla (2,840 m) then trek to Phakding
(2,610 m).
Take an early morning scenic flight to Lukla. After meeting
your porter, begin a gentle 3–4-hour trek along the Dudh Koshi River to
Phakding. Overnight at a teahouse.
Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)
Cross the suspension bridges, reach Sagarmatha National
Park, and ascend to Namche. A steep trail near the end rewards you with
stunning valley views. Overnight in Namche.
Day 4: Acclimatization Day in Namche
Take a short hike either to Everest View Hotel or Khumjung
village; higher is not always better, acclimatizing is paramount. Visit the
Sherpa cultural museum.
Day 5: Trek to Tengboche (3,860 m)
Walk along ridge trails overlooking Ama Dablam. Visit the
Tengboche Monastery, the region’s spiritual hub. Overnight there.
Day 6: Trek to Dingboche (4,410 m)
Descend through forests and then climb slowly to Pangboche
and onward to Dingboche, surrounded by high peaks.
Day 7: Acclimatization in Dingboche
Hike to Nagarjun Hill for panoramic views of Lhotse, Island
Peak, and Makalu. Rest in the afternoon.
Day 8: Trek to Lobuche 4,940 m
Cross the glacial moraine near Thukla and pay a visit to the
climbers’ memorials. Continue to Lobuche.
Day 9: Trek to Gorak Shep (5,164 m), Everest Base Camp
(5,364 m)
Reach Gorak Shep for lunch, then continue to Everest Base
Camp. Return to Gorak Shep for the night.
Day 10: Hike to Kala Patthar (5,545 m) and Trek to
Dzongla (4,830 m)
Early morning ascent to Kala Patthar for the best Everest
sunrise view. After that, descend and trek toward Dzongla.
Day 11: Cross Cho La Pass (5,420 m) to Thangnak (4,700 m)
A difficult but rewarding day. Steep sections and possibly
icy conditions to the pass; descend with care to Thangnak.
Day 12: Trek to Gokyo (4,800 m)
Passing through glacial areas, reach to the tranquil Gokyo
lakes. Overnight at Gokyo.
Day 13: Gokyo Ri Hike - 5,357 m, Trek to Dole - 4,200 m
Climb to Gokyo Ri for breathtaking views of Everest, Cho
Oyu, and the lakes; later, descend to Dole.
Day 14: Trek to Namche Bazaar
A pleasant descent through rhododendron forests and Sherpa
villages.
Day 15: Trek to Lukla
Return to Luka and celebrate your successful trek
