TAAN organizing Lhosar Festival on Fed 17




  Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) is organizing United Lhosar festival 2014 at the shanker Hotel on February 17 . TAAN has been celebrating Lhosar festival the New Year festival of Gurung Sherpa and Tamang communities for the past many years to preserve our timeless culture and enhance brotherhood among tourism entrepreneurs. Though these three communities celebrate Lhosar festival on different dates TAAN has been festival to represent all three communities. TAAN has been trying to promote Lhosar celebration as a tourism product with a distinct brand. Among others the festival will feature cultural presentation of Gurung, Sherpa and Tamang communities as well as various fun –filled events and performance by popular artistes .

TAAN Pokhara sanctuary hoteliers sign six point pact


Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) Pokhara chapter and sanctuary tourism Entrepreneurs committee (STEC) signed a six point agrence in Pokhara in the presence of representatives of TAAN and Annapurna area conservation project ACAp) on December 25 . TAAN president Ramesh Dhamala was present in the signing ceremony  . TAAN Pokhara and STEC Have agreed to jointly review menu of hotel affiliated with the committee every two years . similarly the committee has agreed to upgrade physical infrastructures at hotels and allocate two room for trekking workers . Similarly the committee has agreed to collect loding and food fee from trekking workers from the counters of hotels they are staying so far the committee had been collecting the fee regardless of where they stay or eat of where they stay or eat the hotel and lodges have also agreed to serve rusts on fist come fist served basis .If room has to be shared due to high pressure of trekkers and workers hotels and lodges have agreed to share rooms as per the mutual understanding . Both the side have also agreed to create environment conducive for trekking workers in major trekking trails in the Annapurna region .Similarly the two sides have also agreed to forge tripartite understanding (by ACAP) for works like tourism promotion exploration of trekking trails infrastructure development and other works . Trekking guide training kicks off



Trekking guide training kicks off
 A four week long trekking guide training kicked off at the Nepal Academy of Tourism and hotal management (NATHM) on January 8. The training is being organized by NATHM and coordinated by trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN ). A total of 742 trekking workers from different member agencies of TAAN are participating in the training . The training covers issues like culture geography rope safety map reading and negotiation history fist aid trekking and basic rock climbing among others . speaking at the orientation class ahead of the training ,TAAN president Ramesh Dhamala said the association has raised the number of quota to 742 this year due to increasing demand from member agencies I request you to provide authentic information as today’s trekkers know about the country through internet and other sources they will know immediately if you provide them wrong information Dhamala said . stating that TAAN will put focus on promoting sanitation together with other stakeholders would launch cleanup campaign on Bishnumati River very soon . We will use all trekking  guide sand trekking workers in the campaign he added . Saying that there is stiff completion in the market TAAN president sagar pandey urged aspiring trekking guides to provide quality service is poor it will leave negative impression on trekkers . A company may lose business because of your poor service . you should realize this fact he added . Be competent or other will move  ahead of you .
