Mardi Himal short Trek | Mardi Himal Nepal : Himalayan Smile Treks
Day 1: Pokhara to Kande, Trek to Forest Camp (2,540 m)
Drive for about 1 hour from Pokhara to Kande, the starting
point of the trek. Start hiking through beautiful forest trails with occasional
openings showing terraced hills. After Australian Camp and Pothana, the route
follows the forested path toward Forest Camp. The trail is peaceful and rich in
orchids, moss, and rhododendron trees. Overnight at Forest Camp.
Day 2: Forest Camp to Low Camp at 2,970 m or Badal Danda at
3,210 m
Continue through dense, fragrant forest until reaching Low
Camp. Those interested in better views can go an extra 1 hour to Badal Danda, a
ridge above the clouds with incredible panoramas of Machhapuchhre and
surrounding peaks. Overnight in the midst of mountain scenery.
Day 3: Low Camp/Badal Danda to High Camp (3,580 m)
This section of the trail leaves the forest and follows an
open ridge with dramatic views on both sides. It's one of the most scenic
sections, with Fishtail Mountain towering close above. High Camp is perched on
a ridge, offering outstanding sunset and sunrise views.
Day 4: High Camp to Mardi Himal Viewpoint (4,200 m), Return
to Sidhing
Start an early ascent to Mardi Himal Viewpoint. The trail up
is narrow but rewarding, with stunning colors of sunrise hitting the Annapurna
range. From here, head down again for breakfast at High Camp and then make your
way down to Sidhing village by a different route, which is quicker. Overnight
in Sidhing.
Day 5: Sidhing to Pokhara
From Sidhing, take a jeep back to Pokhara, which will take
2-3 hours, thus ending the short but unforgettable Mardi Himal adventure.
This short Mardi
Himal itinerary is the best combination of breathtaking Himalayan views,
tranquil trails, and compact, rewarding trekking for trekkers.
