Situated in the north
of Kathmandu the shivapuri Nagarjun National park is one of the primary sources of
freshwater for Kathmandu vally . The park is
bestowed with an abundance of streams .the park provides over 40% of the drinking
water to the Kathmandu vally About 30 million litres of water per day is tapped
from the Bagmati , syalmati, Bishnumati Nagmati Sangla Mahadeva and Tusal
khola there are reservoirs at
Sundarijal, panimuhan , Tokha Alle Dhakalchure and panchmane to supply water to
the Kathmandu vally . Bagmati , Bishnumati and yashomati rivers
Originate in the Shivapuri ridge . That explains why this
area is the lifeline of capital city .
