Day 1: Drive to Chame (2,670 m)
Chame - district headquarters of Manang - is a long, scenic drive from Kathmandu or Pokhara, surrounded by pine forests and mountain views.
Day 2: Trek to Upper Pisang (3,300 m)
Gradually, the trail climbs higher and traverses the forests
and villages. Sections of Lamjung Himal and Annapurna II become visible.
Overnight at Upper Pisang for better acclimatization.
Day 3: Trek to Manang (3,540 m)
The high route via Ghyaru and Ngawal provides panoramic
Himalayan views right before hitting the culturally rich village of Manang.
Day 4: Acclimatization Day in Manang
A short trek to either Ice Lake or to Gangapurna viewpoint
will help the body acclimatize to higher elevation while offering spectacular
mountain vistas.
Day 5: Trek to Yak Kharka (4,050 m)
A steady climb through alpine meadows eventually reaches Yak
Kharka, grazing yaks dole out the serene landscapes of this area.
Day 6: Trek to Thorong Phedi (4,525 m)
A short but steep hike gets you to the foot of Thorong La
Pass, preparing you for the major crossing the following day
Day 7: Cross Thorong
La Pass (5,416 m) to Muktinath (3,760 m) This is the most challenging day of
trekking but at the same time most rewarding.
Day 8 Early in the morning, trekkers cross the famous high
pass and descend to the sacred site of Muktinat. A gentle downhill walk leads
to Kagbeni, a traditional Mustang village with ancient monasteries.
Day 9: Trek or Drive to Jomsom (2,720 m) Follow the Kali
Gandaki Valley to windy Jomsom, the hub of the Mustang region. Day
10: Fly or Drive to Pokhara The adventure concludes with a
short scenic flight or drive. This 10-day itinerary delivers the essence of the
Annapurna Circuit-mountains, culture, and challenge-in a compact yet
unforgettable journey.
