Trekking guide training kicks off
A four week long
trekking guide training kicked off at the Nepal Academy of Tourism and hotal
management (NATHM) on January 8. The training is being organized by NATHM and
coordinated by trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN ). A total of 742
trekking workers from different member agencies of TAAN are participating in
the training . The training covers issues like culture geography rope safety
map reading and negotiation history fist aid trekking and basic rock climbing
among others . speaking at the orientation class ahead of the training ,TAAN
president Ramesh Dhamala said the association has raised the number of quota to
742 this year due to increasing demand from member agencies I request you to
provide authentic information as today’s trekkers know about the country
through internet and other sources they will know immediately if you provide
them wrong information Dhamala said . stating that TAAN will put focus on
promoting sanitation together with other stakeholders would launch cleanup
campaign on Bishnumati River very soon . We will use all trekking guide sand trekking workers in the campaign
he added . Saying that there is stiff completion in the market TAAN president
sagar pandey urged aspiring trekking guides to provide quality service is poor
it will leave negative impression on trekkers . A company may lose business
because of your poor service . you should realize this fact he added . Be
competent or other will move ahead of
you .
