Everest trekking

The Everest trekking is justifiably the most famous of all mountain trekking. The region located in eastern Nepal is called Everest trekking. It offers a wide range of trekking experiences. The area of Everest trekking is also called Khumbu. It is also the home of the legendary Sherpas. The northern part of this trekking area lies within the Sagarmatha National Park, which was established to protect the fragile ecosystem of the alpine region. To the east is the Makalu-Barun National Park, a remote and wild stretch of mountain peaks and deep, densely forested valleys.

To the west is the Rolwaling valley, a well protected microcosm of cultures. The southern part is less frequented by tourists but could be a very rewarding destination in its own right. Mount Everest naturally is the major attraction here, but there are other 8,000 meter peaks in the region such as Lhotse, Cho Oyu and Makalu besides the many lesser peaks which are no less stunning. There’s more in Everest trekking than just mountains. The stark beauty in the form of glacial lakes, resplendent rhododendron forests, native flora and fauna, charming villages and ancient Buddhist monasteries all add up to make Everest trekking an irresistible tourist destination.

Mt. Everest Base Camp trek

Everest Base camp Trekking is without doubt one of the most renowned trekking trail in the world. This trekking is also known as Kalapathar trekking. Indeed Mt. Everest Base Camp has been popular travel destination since the first successful expeditions of Mount Everest Summit (8848 meter) on May 29th, 1953 by Sir Edmund Hilary and Tenzing Norgey Sherpa. This trekking reveals some of the most breathtaking scenery of the Himalayan region. On the next day of your arrival in Kathmandu airport, you fly to Lukla (1/2 hour) from where your Everest Base Camp trekking begins. On the first of trekking the foot trail follows Dudh Kosi River. Then following day it crosses forests of rhododendron and magnolia, villages and monasteries.

On the second day you reach at Namche Bazaar, a bustling bazaar, that’s a junction for trekkers. From Namche Bazaar, you trek along a high traversing path and reach at Tyangboche, an old Buddhist monastery located on a ridge top. Then following days you will be at Dingboche, Lobuche and Gorakhashep. After you arrive at Gorakshep firstly you ascend to Kala Pathar (5554 m) from where you can get stunning views of Mt. Everest and its surrounding high peaks. Then next day you trek to your major target place Mount Everest Base Camp (5364 m) at the foot of the Khumbu ice fall. After been to Everest Base Camp you trek back to Lukla airport following the same previous route with spending few days overnight at different places.
