Seen from a number of vantage points on the trail to and beyond Namche, one glance is sufficient to know that this mountain is a very serious climbing proposition .  Located south of Kangtega on the ridge on the Kyashar Himal which separates the valleys of the Dudh kosi and that of the Hinku, this savage-looking rock and ice peak has three summits : the main peak has three summits : the main peak at 5367m (20,889ft ) the East Summits  ( 5579ft: 18,304ft ) . Kusum Kangguru, whose name means ‘mountain house of three snow peaks has a reputation for being the most hard of the so –called trekking peaks. It‘s a complex mountain with five major ridges and as many faces (the west and South – West Faces are seen from Thadokosi). Everest Region

Everest or sagarmatha as the king of the Great Himalayas, The Everest Region is hard to beat for high mountain scenery. Three of the world’s ten highest peaks guard this holy sanctuary . The Sherpas settled in the khumbu highlands some 450 years ago brunging Tibetan Buddhism in the form of ornate monasteries, carved prayer Mani stones and a never-ending joy of life. Some moved lower to Solu , a land rich in resources and of temperate climate . The annual Mani Rimbu festival at Thyangboche usually during November and at other monasteries enact ritual dance dramas of good versus evil.
Khumbu treks fly in and out of Lukla to maximize your time on height but if you have time we encourage you to walk in or out through Solu or Salpa . Occasionally flights are delayed due to weather. It is strongly recommended that you plan at least 2 extra cushion days in Kathmandu after the trek.
